He joined the ANC as a young lion responsible for publicity
“I was nominated in COSAS in 1997 as a BEC member responsible for Information and Publicity, then I moved to the Walter Sisulu University of Technology, where I became SASCO Branch Treasurer. I then moved to become an ANCYL branch Chairperson in 2010 and in 2012; I became the youngest Zonal ANC additional member. In 2015, I became ANC Branch Secretary and in 2016, I became an ANC PR Councillor”. He was an additional member of the YCL in 2011 and a SANCO organizer in 2015.
Problems in Ward 41 include electricity problems and entrepreneurship
“Our problems include unemployment, the backlog of 1996/97, the participation of young people in small businesses, and dealing with electricity and street humps in areas of the ward.”
What solutions and proposals will he take to Council?
“The first issue is making the council adopt the rollout the alternative Energy Solution because prepaid electricity is expensive.”
How has he positively contributed to the community?
“I have every year assisted young people to register for higher institutions. I also coordinate and facilitate job preparedness workshops every February for young people and link them to our Tshepo 1-million database. I intervened when people were having challenges with electricity.”
What inspires him to continue with his ANC activism?
“The policies of the ANC remain relevant for one to be one with the ANC. The teachings that I have been learning and continue to learn, gives me the zeal to continue to champion activism.”
